Conditions Optimales
Description
At an elevation of 1200 meters with a height difference of 510 meters, this paragliding site is frequently used and offers excellent soaring conditions with east winds, making it suitable for cross-country flights. The main launch site is a narrow clearing in the forest, requiring the wind to come from the east.
Located in the Bad Tölz region of Germany, this site is managed by Lenggrieser Gleitschirmflieger e.V. You can find more information on their website: https://www.lenggrieser-gleitschirmflieger.de/. For specific details about the Blomberg site, visit: https://www.lenggrieser-gleitschirmflieger.de/blomberg.
Access to the launch site is via a chairlift to the summit station, followed by a 10-minute walk along the ridge. The launch direction is strictly east, meaning the wind must come directly from the front. Caution is advised with side winds due to the high conifer trees on the right side of the clearing, which can create significant turbulence.
The windsock in the treetops is very informative and must be observed carefully. Top landings are possible on the wide ridge of Blomberg, but turbulence can make them challenging.
The narrow forest clearing provides enough space for only one paraglider or hang glider to launch safely at a time, making it unsuitable for beginners.
This beautiful flying area offers great soaring conditions with east winds in the afternoon, located near Bad Tölz above the Isar Valley. The chairlift is an affordable way to reach the launch sites, all of which are in the clearing. From Blomberg, scenic cross-country flights into the flatlands are possible, such as to the Greiling glider airfield. The landing site at Stallauerweiher is demanding.
