Kite-surf Issos beach

Located slightly to the north of Agios Georgios, Issos Beach emerges as a picturesque spot for both learners and freeride enthusiasts during the summer's north-westerly winds. By midday, you can expect the breeze to intensify to around 12-15 knots, though occasionally it might surpass this; however, very strong winds are uncommon. Thanks to the sand dunes, the waters remain calm and flat, and there's a nearby windsurfing hub where equipment rental is available. The wind barrier created by these dunes isn't the best for kite enthusiasts, especially with the presence of hotel sun loungers. However, the renowned kite surfing location, 'Chalikounas', is a mere 4km to the north. During the winter, Issos showcases its more tumultuous nature when low-pressure southerlies usher in impressive waves to the bay. During this time, kite surfers can often be seen enjoying the waves in front of the now-vacant hotels.
