Infos: Inside harbour: perfectly flat because of the sand bars and offshore wind with Nortada. Coast side is good for windsurf only with the Alvor East pier adding protection. The river mouth offers flat to choppy water and lots of shallow areas, perfect for beginners.

Wind specificities: North wind (Portuguese "Nortada"), every day at 3pm for sure (18-20 knots). Sometimes earlier. Only in sunny days (more often). North is onshore/sideonshore in the lagoon. Season: from June to August (best month).

Access description: by Car - In the Alvor side park next to the football pitch and walk 15m to the lagoon.

Extra: Don't kite or windsurf in the swimmer zone on the ocean side, east of the life guard hut.
Nightlife: Many restaurants, bars and clubs in Alvor and Praia da Rocha.
