Level: Expert Type: Ocean Water type: Medium wave, Big wave Water hazards: Currents Water quality: Clean Infos: Big waves spot, with high tide there is very little room for launch and you have to be very careful with onshore winds. Currents and big waves, it's a spot for experts only. Beach type & size: Sand - Tidal Infos: Sandy beach. With high tide there is very little room for launch and you have to be very careful for the onshore winds. At low tide you have an about 40m wide beach and about 800m long. If you have problems there is no more beach only cliffs to the South and North. Identified hazards: Rocks Beachgoer: None Weather specificities: Nice air temperatures all year-round, around 25C. Water rather cold, wetsuit needed all year-round. Wind type: Trade Wind specificities: In summer when it's blowing more than 30 knots and gusty in Sotavento (12 minutes by car in the other side of the island) here the wind is 20-25 knots and constant. The sea at this side of the island is very dangerous and you don't have much room for errors. The wind usually is onshore sometimes a litle sideonshore. It's difficult to go out for the wind direction and big waves. Access description: by Car - FTV-1 direction Morro Jable South. About 2 km. Before Costa Calma there is an exit to La Pared. Drive straight to the end of the village and you find a surf school after that there is a sand road to the beach where everybody goes for surfing. Park the car in the top of a little hill and you have to walk 5 minutes to the beach. Specific rules: None Extra: It's not a spot for beginners or intermediate kiters. You have to be very confident and skilled to kite there. Dropping the kite once can mean you will be taken out to the ocean with only high cliffs, no chance for rescue. Surfers have to be respected if you don't want problems. Low tide is the time to go, high tide is even more difficult. Accommodations: Parking

Wind is quit gusty there and most of the time is parallel to the beach. Best months: May, June, July, August, September Access description: by Car - On every map you find Cotillo. From the airport you go via La Oliva, from Corralejo via Lajares. Few km south of Cotillo. There is a dirty track going South along the beach. Specific rules: None Extra: Kitesurfing part of this beach is marked with a big notice board. Nightlife: Only a few bars in Cotillo, better nightlife in Corralejo. Accommodations: Parking

Level: Intermediate, Expert Type: Ocean Water type: Flat, Chop Water hazards: None Water quality: Clean Infos: Flat water. Sometimes a little choppy. No currents, deep water about 20m from shore. Beach type & size: Sand, Pebbles - Tidal Infos: Black sand with some little stones. When the tide is up there are some places that don't have enough space to launch, but if you go to the right side of the beach you have enough room. The beach is about 1.5 km long. Beach can be crowded with sunbathers. It's narrow about 25m with full tide, more at the south is wider. Launching zone is from half beach don't go to the North side, there are more people and a little mountain stops the wind. Identified hazards: Bystanders Weather specificities: Always good weather, water relatively cold, a 3mm wetsuit is recommended. Wind type: Trade Wind specificities: When the wind is blowing from the Northeast it's offshore. Good to kite there with sideshore wind from the left when is blowing from the East and there is no wind in Sotavento, and sideonshore from the right when is blowing from the South. The best time is from 13.00 to 16.00. The wind is better if you go to the right side of the beach because there is a little mountain at the left side. In summer is always offshore but from October to March there are some days that is good for kitesurf with sideshore wind. This spot works when the wind came from the East and from the South. Sotavento is about 16 km to the south and many times with those wind directions there is no wind in Sotavento and there is wind in Tarajalejo. Usual kites 12m+. Best months: January, February, March, November, December Access description: by Car - From the airport you go to the South, direction Gran Tarajal or Morrro Jable. It's about 35 min by car from the airport. After Gran Tarajal (about 10 km) and when the road meets the sea you are in Tarajalejo. You could access to the right side of the beach with the car going straight the road that pass in front of the Hotel Tofio, turn left and you reach the beach. Specific rules: None Extra: The rescue service could be the boat that the Catamaran school has, but don't count on it. Be kind with the beach users because in some places there is no much room for error in launching and landing. Accommodations: Rescue, Toilet, Food, Parking
