Whitfords Beach Outer Reefs (Seal Island) - Western Australia
This surf spot features reef waves breaking both right and left over sharp coral rocks. It is best surfed with swells above 2.5 meters, particularly thriving at 3-4.5 meters. The ideal wind is from the east at around 6 knots, creating glassy conditions when clean.
Located straight out from Whitfords Beach, access is available via a boat ramp at Hillarys Boat Harbour, approximately 2 km away. Surfers can paddle out, but boat or jet-ski access is recommended due to potential shark activity. The spot works well at mid and high tide, especially during a rising tide. With minimal crowds during the week and weekends, surfers can enjoy the waves in relative solitude. Notable waves include Big Left and Saco's, with the nearby 3 Mile Reef also offering additional options for adventurous surfers.
