Surf The Gap

The Gap - Castlepoint The Gap features a beach break with both right and left waves, breaking over a reef with sharp rocks and sand. The spot is best during low to mid tide with a rising tide, and it works well with swells from the southwest, south, southeast, east, and northeast. Wind from the northwest, west, or southwest enhances conditions. Located south of Castlepoint, access requires a short 5-15 minute walk from the parking area, following a path beside a prominent rock. The atmosphere is vibrant when the waves are firing, attracting a few surfers on weekends and remaining mostly empty during the week. While the waves can be hollow and fast, caution is advised due to the presence of rocks. Overall, The Gap offers a fun surfing experience with a variety of wave conditions for different skill levels.
