Surf Spooks

Spooks - Sorrento Peninsula Spooks features a right-breaking reef wave with a sandy bottom interspersed with rock. This spot can deliver hollow, fast waves ranging from 1.2 to 1.8 meters when conditions align, particularly at low and mid tide with a rising swell from the southwest and favorable north to northeast winds. Nestled among sandstone cliffs, Spooks offers an isolated surfing experience, away from the crowds typical of nearby Sorrento and Portsea. Access involves a short 5-15 minute walk from the London Bridge car park, leading surfers around the point. While the wave can be fantastic on its day, it has a reputation for being crowded when the take-off zone shrinks. The area is known for its beautiful scenery and can produce legendary waves reminiscent of the 70s, although recent years have seen a predominance of right-handers. Caution is advised due to potential rips and undertow.
