Surf Riviera

Riviera - San Clemente, California Riviera is a beach break featuring fast, punchy rights and lefts over a sandy bottom. This local favorite breaks on almost any swell, with optimal conditions on a west swell, particularly at mid and high tide. Access is easy, located immediately north of San Clemente State Park Beach, with public access and a quick walk to the surf. Known for its mellow vibe, Riviera offers a welcome respite from the busier nearby breaks like Trestles. The spot is accessible from a parking lot at Avenue Calafia, complete with bathrooms. Surfers can enjoy a variety of board types, from shortboards to longboards, without the intense crowding typical of more popular locations. While the lineup is generally manageable, be cautious of rips and undertow, as well as the occasional mid-morning onshore breeze that can affect wave quality.
