Surf Punta San Jose

Punta San Jose - Baja California Punta San Jose features powerful, fast waves breaking over flat rocks, with both right and left directions. This reef break is accessible via a well-maintained dirt road, requiring a short walk of 5-15 minutes from the parking area. It works well at all tides, making it a reliable surf spot year-round. Located 50 miles south of Ensenada, Punta San Jose offers a fun atmosphere, especially outside holiday weekends when San Diego crowds can overwhelm the area. Surfers can expect few crowds during the week, but weekends can get crowded. The best conditions arise with southeast, east, or northeast winds and swells from the northwest, west, or southwest. However, caution is advised due to potential rips, undertow, and rocky hazards.
