Ocean City (The Circus) - Maryland Ocean City features a beach break with both right and left waves over a sandy bottom. The waves are known for being hollow and fast, making it a prime surfing destination. It accommodates all tides, with the best conditions during a rising tide. This surf spot is renowned for its variety of swell directions, often ridable when nearby areas are flat. The 48th Street break is particularly popular, known for its sizable lefts and rights, though it can be extremely crowded and localism is prevalent. Other notable spots include 70th, 62nd, and 81st Streets, which are slightly less crowded but still offer quality waves. The 130th and 142nd Streets are better at high tide, catering more to bodyboarders with quick drops. While winter brings a mellow local vibe, be prepared for aggressive conditions when the surf picks up. Access is easy, with instant entry to the beach, though summer crowds can be overwhelming.
