Surf Moonstone

Moonstone - Cambria, California Moonstone features a beach break with both right and left waves, set on a sandy bottom interspersed with rocks. The spot is best from late summer through winter, accommodating all tides with rising and falling conditions. Surfers can expect fun waves, particularly a clean wedge at high tide and impressive lefts at low tide off the northern rock pile. Located at the mouth of Santa Rosa Creek, this pebbly sand beach stretches about 800 meters along Moonstone Beach Drive. Access is straightforward, with a paved parking area and restrooms available. While not a premier surf destination, it offers a reliable alternative when nearby spots are flat. The crowd is generally polite, attracting intermediate to expert surfers, making it suitable for shortboarding and bodyboarding. Be mindful of shallow shorebreak and other surfers while enjoying the waves, as the vibe can be competitive at times.
