Surf La barra

La Barra - Likin La Barra is a powerful rivermouth wave that breaks predominantly to the right, with a sandy bottom. It is surfable for about 2 to 4 hours daily, primarily at low-incoming tide with minimal wind. The wave is fast and hollow, requiring advanced skills due to its shallow water and strong rip currents. Located between Puerto San Jose and Monterrico, La Barra offers a scenic backdrop and is accessible via a short walk from Aldea Puerta de Hierro. The spot is generally uncrowded, attracting only a few local surfers on weekends. While the shifting sandbars can affect wave quality, experienced surfers will find it rewarding. Beginners may struggle with the powerful conditions, but nearby beach breaks provide more suitable options. The area is also home to a surf camp, enhancing the local surf culture.
