Description
Frisco Pier - Frisco, North Carolina
Frisco Pier features a sandbar wave that breaks both right and left over a sandy bottom. The waves are known for being hollow, fast, and powerful, making it a fun spot for experienced surfers. The best conditions occur at low and mid tide, with optimal swell from the north, south, east, and northeast, particularly when the wind is from the north or northwest.
Located on the southern coast, Frisco captures a variety of swells, making it a reliable surf destination. Although the iconic Cape Hatteras Pier is no longer present, the area remains popular among surfers, especially during the storm season in autumn when tropical cyclones and nor'easters enhance wave quality. Access is easy, with parking available and a short walk to the beach. While the crowd can be few on weekdays, weekends may see a surge in surfers. Be cautious of rips, undertows, and the occasional shark, as well as remnants of the old pier beneath the water.
