El Hombre - Chicama
El Hombre features a left point break with a sandy bottom interspersed with rocks. This spot works best at low and mid tide, with optimal conditions arising from southwest and south swell directions, complemented by southeast winds. The wave can reach heights of 2 to 8 feet, offering hollow and fast rides, particularly when linking up to the town pier.
Located directly in front of the El Hombre Hotel, access is instant, requiring less than a 5-minute walk. The wave is commonly surfed by locals and is known for its good hollow characteristics. While it can provide a long ride of about 100 meters, it typically does not align with the main point at Chicama, which is 1.2 km away. Surfers should be cautious of rocks in the shorebreak, but overall, the atmosphere remains relaxed with few surfers during the week and weekends.
