Surf Castle Rock

This spot is accessible via a short 5-15 minute walk from the end of Cutler Road, Balgowlah, with public access available. It works well at all tides, particularly with rising and falling tides, and is best with swell from the southeast to east and wind from the north to northeast. This lesser-known surf spot is ideal for those seeking a quieter session when other beaches are crowded. While it attracts a few surfers on weekends, weekdays often see it nearly empty. The atmosphere is relaxed, with occasional wave skis and paddle boards joining in. Caution is advised due to potential dangers such as urchins, rocks, and sharks. For access, park at the Cutler Road carpark and follow the walking track south, or paddle over from Balmoral Beach.
