Surf Blacknose

Blacknose - Portland Blacknose is a right-hand point break characterized by long, hollow waves with steep walls, making it one of the longest rides in Vico. The bottom consists of boulders, and it requires a very large swell to start breaking. The wave is powerful and fast, working best at low and mid tide. Located in Portland, behind the smelter, Blacknose offers instant access with a short walk of less than 5 minutes. However, be prepared for heavy localism; the locals dominate the lineup, especially on big days when the waves attract crowds. The atmosphere can be intense, and caution is advised due to potential dangers such as rocks, localism, and sharks. If you manage to navigate the quick section halfway through, you may experience one of the longest waves of your life, but respect the locals and the ocean's unwritten rules.
