Description
Located in Utah, USA, this paragliding site sits at an elevation of 2054 meters with a height difference of 660 meters. It's an easy site, particularly suitable for new mountain pilots, offering beautiful scenery and good morning flights. The site is occasionally used and known for thermal soaring.
To reach the site, take the Benjamin exit, head west on 7300S to 5300W, go north around the turn, and follow the road up to the towers. A 2WD high-clearance vehicle is recommended for the drive-up. The main takeoff is east-facing, with the best launch direction being to the north.
The launch area has an easy slope but can be tricky due to rocks. The landing zone is open and spacious, but avoid landing in fields with animals and ensure not to block access gates with parked vehicles. Morning flights are best before 11:00 AM to avoid cycles coming from the back. Evening flights should also use the north launch, with the landing zone coming from the north.
This site offers some cross-country potential and is a great place for new pilots to experience mountain flying away from the Point of the Mountain. The site provides a good opportunity to experiment with thermal flying, especially in the early morning before the air becomes too thermally active. Average flight durations range from 7 to 10 minutes.
