At an elevation of 1964 meters, this paragliding site offers a medium-level experience. It is rarely used, making it a hidden gem for those seeking a quieter adventure. The hike and fly route takes approximately 1 hour and provides a panoramic flight experience.
Flights can be initiated right at the summit station 'Alp Wannelen', but thermal conditions should be present. During colder seasons, it's advisable to ascend a bit higher to 'Wanneler Egg'.
The take-off site is located at an altitude of 1880 meters and is easily accessible via a mountain railway. The coordinates for the take-off site are 8.7852803, 46.85140362. The hike to the take-off point takes about 45 minutes.
To reach the site, travel approximately 800 meters from Unterschächen on the pass road towards Klausen Pass. At the hamlet of Ribi, take the aerial cableway to Alp Wannelen. From there, walk north to the take-off site, which is an ideal grassy slope.
The take-off window faces west and is considered easy in terms of difficulty.
