Description
Järboberg is a regularly used paragliding site known for its soaring conditions and multiple takeoff options. The site is classified as a ridge (hang) flying location and requires a Pilot 2 license. The optimal wind directions for flying here are northwest (NV) and west (V).
The takeoff altitude is 50 meters above sea level, with a height difference of 50 meters. Pilots can expect to start outside the fence and fly into the ridge. Landing should also be done outside the fence, avoiding the grass area below the moat. This makes the site more challenging for takeoff and landing compared to previous conditions.
Top landing is recommended. Behind the ridge, there is a deep moat bordered by a low fence, making high-wind landings on the ridge particularly risky. The local airspace sector KA4 is open with a height limit of 200 feet. Pilots should not contact Säve when flying here.
Access to the site is through driving out of Gothenburg towards Saltholmen. Note that entry is not through AMF1, as the land is no longer within a military area.

This site is beautiful but not suitable for beginners. Since 2018, a new fence has been installed, making it crucial to ensure lift before starting, as there are no escape routes through the fence if you end up on the inside.
