Description
Slettefjell offers a launch point where the road curves into the mountain. You can land almost anywhere, but the most practical spot is down where the road begins to climb the mountainside, approximately 3 km to the right of the launch point.
This location is regularly used for thermal soaring, and cross-country (XC) flights are possible. According to old reports, it is a good ridge soaring site. The launch area is excellent with no obstacles, and it spans several kilometers of bare mountain. Top landing is very easy here.
Please note that the road usually opens sometime in June, as it takes a while for the snow to melt.
