Description
Located in the Einsiedeln region of Switzerland, this paragliding site offers an elevation of 1308 meters with a height difference of 400 meters. It is an easy site, regularly used, and offers some cross-country (XC) potential with multiple launch options.
Starting Point: Wäni near Restaurant Burg, just after Einsiedeln towards Brunni. If traveling with multiple vehicles, parking is available at Chälen (see map).
Directions: Head towards Tritt (see map), approximately a 50-minute walk.
This is a beautiful area for west wind soaring and for extending flights towards Hoch Ybrig or Mythen. Since you cannot reach the launch site by car or train, a bit of physical fitness is required.
Flight: You can enjoy hours of soaring here. For those looking to venture further, you can either gain altitude directly above the launch site or head left towards Amselspitz, where you often find good thermals. From there, you can fly towards Ybrig or Mythen. At the lower launch site, you can head right behind the ridge, which usually offers good lift.
Difficulty: Be aware of cables in the Alptal area.
