Description
Tetrevi Hora is a paragliding site located at an altitude of 1230 meters above sea level with an elevation gain of 400 meters. The site is suitable for walk&fly, thermal soaring, and cross-country (XC) flights. The wind direction for optimal flying ranges from 30° to 130°.
The take-off area is a large clearing created after logging, near former military concrete bunkers. Careful selection of the take-off spot is necessary due to uprooted stumps and surrounding wild vegetation.
To reach the landing zone below the take-off, travel from Hanušovice towards Staré Město pod Sněžníkem. Approximately 2 km before Staré Město, turn left following the sign to Hynčice and stay on the main road. After passing through the village of Hynčice pod Sušinou, you will see large meadows with scattered concrete bunkers around the highest point of the road, known locally as 'Pevnůstky na Štvanici'.
The most comfortable (though not the shortest) route to the take-off starts from the highest point of the road, turning left onto a forest path. After 300 meters at the junction near the top of the ski lift, take the left option and continue for about 3 km on a gently ascending and then slightly descending forest path along the eastern and southern slopes. Ignore the first right turn uphill and take the second right turn about 100 meters further onto an asphalt road. At the next junction after approximately 2 km of ascent, turn right again and after about 100 meters, a red tourist trail joins from the left. About 20 meters before this point, turn right uphill into the forest. After about 300 meters towards the northeast, a large clearing opens up at the top, and after another 300 meters of navigating between stumps towards the northeast, you will find the easternmost bunker, near which you can choose your take-off spot.
Landing is directly below the take-off on large meadows above the village of Hynčice pod Sušinou, in the area known as 'Pevnůstky na Štvanici' at coordinates N50°10.144' E16°53.476', near the highest point of the road. It is also possible to land at lower spots around Hynčice pod Sušinou, gaining an additional 200 meters of elevation.
