Conditions Optimales
Description
Located in Italy, this paragliding site is regularly used and offers afternoon soaring opportunities with the possibility of small cross-country flights. Top landing is possible, and the main takeoff point is situated here. The site is suitable for beautiful evening flights during the summer, providing stunning views of the remnants of the Ortler glaciers.
The takeoff area is directly next to or in front of a local establishment and near the mountain station of the drag lift. In winter, the area serves as a ski slope, while in summer, it transforms into a grassy slope.
For those interested in nearby flights, the site record is 23.0 km. The region also boasts another site with a record of 91.1 km.
When planning your flight, it's crucial to assess wind conditions. Avoid launching if upper winds exceed 30 km/h. The scenery is breathtaking, featuring views of Ortler, Zebrú, and Königsspitze, among others.
For access, take the chairlift from the Kanzellift valley station to the mountain station, followed by a 10-minute walk towards the northeast. The launch point is at the mountain station of the drag lift.
This site is a good alternative when the north wind in Vinschgau is too strong, performing best with northwest winds. Note that conditions can be quite turbulent with northeast to east winds. When landing, be careful to avoid high grass.
