Description
Hestefjellet, located above Stryn Vinterski, offers a panoramic flight experience. The hike to the launch site takes approximately 1.5 to 2 hours from Bøasætra.
To get there, drive to Stryn and turn onto Setrevegen near the Esso station. Follow the road all the way up to the ski center, then continue on the gravel road to Bøasætra. Note that this road is closed in winter, but there is an alternative route through the cabin area if you have access to the gate.
From the parking area, follow the marked hiking trails or the ski lift route upwards. The top area consists of moss and rounded stones. There is a good launch site without stones on the south side, about 100 meters below the summit.
From here, you can reach the ridge south of Karifjellet. Once you gain altitude over that peak, you can set off in various directions.
There is a large field next to the parking area at Bøasætra, which is suitable for landing. Alternatively, you can glide all the way down to Stryn and land there.
Be aware of significant microlight activity in Stryn, with approaches directly over Strynehallen in the town center. Contact Roger Vik at Stryn Mikroflyklubb before flying to inform them of your plans. Phone: +47 48000007
