This site is frequently used for paragliding, with opportunities for both soaring and cross-country (XC) flights.
Region: Switzerland

Season: Approximately from April until snowfall.
Transport: For groups of 6 or more, a taxi-bus service by Walter Züger is available (079 388 13 82). The cost is 10 CHF per person. Meeting point is the Rev. Kirchenparkplatz in Nesslau. Schedule: Monday to Friday at 17:30, Saturday and Sunday at 13:00. Private cars should not be driven up. If you do drive, a permit costing 10 CHF is required. Cars must be parked at Risipass.
Takeoff: The takeoff direction is from West to South. The launch site is a large, easy meadow. Eastward takeoff is possible but more challenging.
Landing: The landing zone is in Nesslau on a mowed meadow. Be cautious of valley winds (west wind) as the landing zone can be slightly in the lee.
Hazards: The Stockberg does not present significant dangers. However, the landing zone can be slightly in the lee during valley winds (west wind).
Wildlife Protection: Flight restrictions apply as per the images provided on the linked site.
Fees: None. Please use the mowed meadow for landing.
Evaluation: Stockberg is a wonderful site for evening flights. On good days, flights past Säntis to Hohen Kasten and back to Nesslau are achievable.
