This site is challenging and recommended only for experienced pilots. The main launch direction is northwest, but flights are typically conducted on the southwest side.
The site offers good potential for cross-country (XC) flights. It is also a reference point for XC flights from Kössen, with the classic route being from Unterberg towards the east to Fellhorn and Steinplatte.
