Description
Serak-Mracna Hora is a paragliding site with an elevation of 1150 meters above sea level and a take-off height of 350 meters. The launch direction is west, with a wind azimuth ranging from 240° to 300°. This site is occasionally used for soaring and small cross-country flights.
The launch area is a steep slope within a forest clearing about 30 meters wide. On the right side, the clearing is bordered by a ski lift, and the trees immediately behind it are significantly taller.
The most convenient way to reach the launch site is by taking the cable car from Ramzovské sedlo. This saddle is accessible via the road from Jeseník towards Hanušovice or Králíky. The lower station of the cable car is located at the highest point of the saddle, about 200 meters to the left of the road, and is relatively well-hidden from passing drivers. A good landmark is Hotel Lucie, where you need to turn left.
You only need to purchase a ticket to the transfer station Čerňava when heading towards Šerák. The launch site is clearly visible from the cable car on its left side and is located about 200 meters north of the Čerňava station.
