Description
This paragliding site in the Bern region of Switzerland is situated at an altitude of 2600 meters and is considered medium-difficult. It is occasionally used but offers good cross-country (XC) potential. The best flight logs are typically recorded from the southwest (SW) launch site, although there are multiple launch points, including southeast (SE).
The launch site is oriented towards the south and southwest, making it challenging. The launch area is a flat, short, rocky meadow. It is manageable with southwest or thermal updrafts but becomes very demanding otherwise, as the meadow transitions into a steep, rocky scree slope.
To reach the launch site, take the cable car from Stechelberg or Lauterbrunnen to Mürren, then continue with the aerial cableway towards Schilthorn. Disembark at the Birg intermediate station and walk west along the ridge for about 10 minutes to the saddle above the reservoir.
Landing zones are available in Stechelberg or Lauterbrunnen.
Coordinates: 7.84869973, 46.56097501
