Located at an altitude of 1295 meters with a height difference of 596 meters, this paragliding site is frequently used and known for its excellent cross-country (XC) potential.
To access the launch site, you need to take a narrow mountain road (not suitable for campers) to the car park known as 'della barra,' which marks the end of the road open to public traffic. From this car park, it is approximately a 3 km hike with a 350-meter altitude gain to reach the refuge, taking about one hour on average. Some sources suggest it could take up to 1.5 hours from the upper parking area.

The Paniz family has been managing the refuge since the summer of 2020, offering a warm welcome and simple yet genuine cuisine. Matteo, the manager, is always available to provide advice on the numerous trails in the area, including the path to the summit of Monte Pizzocco (2186 meters). The refuge is also a popular destination for mountain bikers due to the convenient forest road leading to it and for paragliders using the 'decollo delle Ere' launch site.
Google Maps provides clear directions; simply enter 'Rifugio Casera Ere'. Note that you cannot drive directly to the hut. You must leave your car at the Ligont parking area in the Roncoi locality, above the village of San Gregorio nelle Alpi (BL). This parking is mandatory for campers, as the road further up is narrow and steep. From the Ligont car park, it is about a 6 km hike with a 670-meter altitude gain to reach the refuge. From the higher car park 'della barra,' it is about a 3 km hike with a 350-meter altitude gain, taking approximately one hour on a comfortable forest road or via trail sign 853.
