Takeoff Points:
1. Montjoi (SE): Depart from the windmills or from the other side of the pass to the SW. Alternatively, you can take off from a lower point on the ridge behind Torre del Sastre (Roses to Montjoi road).
2. Mas Oliva (West): Depart from the windmills.
3. "Vol petit" (Small Flight) (NE): Depart from the windmills.
4. Puig de l’àliga (SE-N): Depart from the ridge NW of the windmills. Access via the field used as the landing zone for "Vol petit," passing by the abandoned house. Follow the path that ascends and circles the mountain. After passing the highest peak (keeping it to your right), there are various takeoff points for S and N winds.
5. Els Jóncols (NE): Depart from above the cove.
Landing Zones:
Montjoi: Altitude 500m. Land on Montjoi beach, with primarily sea winds. Flags are usually present on the left side of the beach, near the campsite. An alternative landing zone is 500m inland, just below the farmhouse.
Mas Oliva: Land in the Mas Oliva valley (the first urbanization visible when looking towards Roses). Land on the path, avoiding the fields to prevent conflicts with the landowner.
"Vol petit" (Small Flight): Land in the field 60m below. This is a very easy flight suitable for schools, with the possibility of ridge soaring with NE winds.
Puig de l’àliga: Land in Mas Oliva (on the path) or towards Roses, in the small, unfenced football field, or any uncultivated field.
Els Jóncols: Land on the beach of the same cove.
Access:
Take the A-7 motorway, exit at Figueres. Follow the N-II towards France, then turn right onto the local road towards Roses. Before reaching Roses, turn left at the gas station towards Cadaqués. At the highest point of the Cadaqués road, turn right towards the Pení military base. Upon reaching the military zone sign, follow the right track leading to the wind farm.
To reach Montjoi and Cala Jóncols, cross Roses and take the road to Montjoi. Continue on the same track past Montjoi to reach Cala Jóncols.
Observations:
Be cautious of the windmills, which have automatic starting blades. Flights are primarily descents, with occasional ridge soaring opportunities near the sea. Elevation differences range from 60 to 500 meters.
