Description
Located in Italy, the Decollo delle Grange is a popular paragliding site suitable for both paragliders (PG) and hang gliders (HG) of all levels. The launch area is a large meadow that allows for the simultaneous setup and pre-flight checks of multiple wings. The terrain is obstacle-free with a uniform slope, making it accessible for everyone.
The site offers excellent exposure, allowing for flights from mid-morning to late afternoon with good thermal soaring conditions. Pilots can enjoy thermal soaring along the route, with some potential for cross-country (XC) flights.
When flying towards the village of San Germano, you will pass over an area known as 'Faro,' identifiable by a concrete pole at the mountain's peak. This area often provides favorable thermodynamic conditions.
The designated landing zone is in Villar Perosa, in a meadow marked by a windsock, located next to the road leading to Inverso Pinasca and Perosa Argentina, parallel to State Road 23. The entrance is 500 meters before the Stabilus factory, turning left at the roundabout.
Please note that valley winds become significant from late morning onwards, so caution is advised.
