Located in the Sintra region of Portugal, Praia da Aguda offers a delightful coastal soaring experience. This site is regularly used and provides a great opportunity to refine your flying technique while enjoying hours of relaxed flight. The takeoff is situated on the right side of the parking lot, accessible via a road that heads north from Praia das Maçãs, passing Azenhas do Mar towards Magoito. About 1 km after Azenhas do Mar, a right turn leads directly to the parking area. The cliff at Praia da Aguda offers good lift and extensive flying opportunities, stretching from Magoito to Azenhas do Mar. However, be cautious during high tide as landing on the beach can be tricky. The elevation difference is approximately 50 meters. The site is best flown with winds from the west to northwest, with wind speeds ranging between 13 km/h and 26 km/h. Top landing is possible but not recommended for beginners. Beach landings can be delicate during high tide, and the beach may be very small or non-existent during spring tides. At other times, the sandy area extends to Magoito. Praia da Aguda is one of the most famous paragliding spots in the Sintra region. The wind direction is predominantly west, with minor variations. The usual takeoff and landing spot near the parking lot can be turbulent if the wind is not directly head-on. These limitations are reduced if takeoff and top landing are done from the higher part of the cliff.
