Description
The site at Pegestorf, with an elevation of 223 meters and a height difference of 80-120 meters, is rarely used and primarily for local soaring. There are multiple landing options, but it's important to be mindful of the cultivated fields.
Only paragliders and hang gliders with a valid certification are allowed to fly here, and the equipment must be properly approved and insured. Training for paragliding and hang gliding is not permitted at Pegestorf. Each pilot must pay a daily fee to use the site and must follow the instructions of the club members.
Pilots must check in via the contact form on the day of their flight.
If the wind is too easterly in Börry, Pegestorf often becomes a viable alternative. The launch site is accessible on foot from Pegestorf via good field paths, with a steep incline at the end. The launch area is at the highest point of the hill, to the right of the bush group. The launch should be completed within 3-4 steps. Pilots must decide whether they can clear the fence at a sufficient height; otherwise, they should land to the right.
Bring a windsock with you. Strongly shifting winds indicate lee conditions, which are common here. Only fly when the wind is coming directly from the east-southeast (OSO). The lee effect from the trees is very strong, and there are many wind shears.
There are extensive landing options. If the fields are cultivated, landing on the path is also feasible. Note that there is no windsock available on-site.
