Description
The launch site at Pardatschgrat in Ischgl, Austria, is accessible by cable car during the winter season (until early May). The summer operation of the cable cars starts on weekends in June and runs daily from July to mid-September. For exact operating times, visit [Ischgl's official website](http://www.ischgl.com).
In winter, both foot and ski launches are possible. However, do not land in the ID-ALPE area due to the numerous intersecting cable cars and ski slopes. The landing zones in Ischgl are easily reachable with a normal glide angle. If needed, use the emergency landing site at Pardatschalpe, west of the Silvrettabahn mid-station.
The launch sites Mutmanör and Lattenkopf are only accessible in summer via forest roads and require permission to use a vehicle. Currently, there is no official landing site designated for summer operations in Ischgl. Please avoid packing up your glider in the meadows.
The start site at Idjoch has been closed due to non-compliance with cable car distance regulations. Only the launch at Pardatschgrat is permitted.
For soaring conditions, the Pardatschgrat ridge is favorable from February onwards with sun exposure. Be cautious of turbulence when flying into the main Paznaun Valley (Silvretta) and the valley wind from the ski area interacting with the Paznaun Valley wind system.
In case of strong valley winds, land east of the gas station at the village entrance. If you can't reach the main valley, land southwest of the Silvrettabahn mid-station. Do not land on ski slopes. Landing in Samnaun is risky due to valley winds and the difficulty of returning to Ischgl without skis.
