The main launch site at 1800 meters is extremely popular, offering excellent cross-country potential. However, most flights here are typically soaring or short to medium distances. From the mountain station, follow the path to the right towards the Neunerköpfle summit, just a few minutes' walk.

Here you can get the latest weather information and all current and important details about the flying area. After the last flight, head to Route66 to Angi and Albin (restaurant and bar) right next door. They even built a special pilot bar with a direct view of the landing site.
For W/NW winds: From the mountain station, take the path to the right, just below the summit.
For E/NE winds: From the mountain station, keep left and follow the path past the mountain inn towards Haldensee.
The Tannheimer Valley is often referred to as the most beautiful high valley in Europe. The valley offers a picturesque mix of gentle hills and rugged cliffs. Located at the northwestern edge of the Alps, it is very accessible. The Neunerköpfle, in the heart of the Tannheimer Valley, is a renowned spot for paragliding and hang gliding.
Why is this area ideal for paragliders and those aspiring to be? At Neunerköpfle, we have the advantage of two launch sites: one facing east and one facing west, allowing for launches in almost all wind directions. The landing site is enormous, right next to the valley station of the Tannheim cable cars. A modern gondola takes us up to the 1865-meter-high Neunerköpfle, and the launch sites are just a 5-minute walk away.
Thermals typically start around midday, depending on the season and daily conditions, and are easy to use, making it perfect for first thermal experiences or stress-free circling. Our "house thermals" are often reliably in the same spot and regularly regenerate.
For cross-country pilots looking to explore and rack up kilometers, the Tannheimer Valley has much to offer. Once you reach the base at Neunerköpfle, various routes are available. Note that the area around Vilsalpsee is a nature reserve, so ensure you have sufficient altitude before entering.

High collision risk on weekends and very crowded launch site.
Flying skill level is generally low.
Not ideal for cross-country starting point due to difficulty reaching the not-so-high base in less-than-ideal conditions (nearby Jöchelspitze is better).
