Mont-Sainte-Anne, Quebec, Canada Elevation: 625 meters (2050 feet) Orientation: 135° (SE), 180° (S), 225° (SW), and 270° (W) Minimum Level Required: Novice (P2) Type of Flight: Thermal and dynamic Period of Activity: All seasons Site Record: 4.7 km This site is occasionally used for soaring flights. It offers a mix of thermal and dynamic flying conditions, making it suitable for novice pilots. However, be cautious of the high voltage line at the base of the mountain and avoid flying in North or North-West winds, as the site can become dangerous. Rules: - Valid liability insurance (ACVL) is required. - Free flight activities are managed by Aerostyle. For full details, visit the Aerostyle website. - No hang-gliding or speed-riding/speed-flying is allowed. Takeoff Information: - The slope is not very steep, requiring a good run for takeoff. - The takeoff area is narrow, so watch out for trees on either side. - Be mindful of skiers in the area. Additional Information: - The high-speed gondola operates 10 months per year. During the gondola's off months, a shuttle service is available through the paragliding school Aerostyle. Contact Aerostyle at 418 955 3117 for shuttle details. - Several controlled air zones are in close proximity to the flight site. Check the information board at the landing area. If planning a cross-country (XC) flight, inform nearby pilots or the Aerostyle paragliding school. Weather: - In August and July, expect strong breezes starting from 1 PM. Other Activities: Mont-Sainte-Anne is also known for alpine skiing, cross-country skiing, and snowboarding. The area offers a variety of outdoor winter activities, including dogsledding, canyoning (on ice), snowmobiling, ice skating, mountain biking, and rafting.
