Description
In North Jutland, Denmark, you will find one of the most popular paragliding sites, known for its extensive dune and cliff soaring opportunities. The site offers a maximum altitude of 15 meters and a flight distance of up to 8 kilometers. This location is frequently used and is highly recommended for both dune and cliff soaring, with the possibility of coastal cross-country flights.
Takeoff can be done either from the cliff top or directly from the beach. The region is particularly famous for its almost 10 km stretch of slopes from the loop up to Lønstrup, making it Denmark's best ridge for paragliding. You can start from almost anywhere along the beach, but be cautious of the protected wildlife zones in the dunes.
For navigation, use the address Furreby Kirkevej 143, 9480 Løkken. The ideal wind conditions are from the WNW with a wind speed of 8-13 knots during the summer. Note that during the summer, flying south of Furreby is prohibited due to local regulations.
When planning your trip, take the E45 highway up to Aalborg, then switch to the E39. Follow the signs towards Løkken, and head to the north side of the town to access the beach. You can drive on the beach from the northern side and find the dunes a few kilometers north.
Top landing is generally not advised due to turbulence (rotor) on top of the bluffs, so it's safer to land on the beach. Be cautious of the strong winds and avoid flying behind the dunes, as rotor can be dangerous.

For accommodation, there is a camping place near the launch site, and you can also rent the beach farm if you are in a group, providing a convenient stay right at the launch.
Fly safe and enjoy the stunning coastal views of North Jutland!
