Conditions Optimales
Description
Kronplatz, located in Trentino-Südtirol, Italy, offers a unique paragliding experience. The take-off point is conveniently situated next to the mountain station. This site is particularly suitable for flights in northern wind conditions, except during Föhn winds. Despite being on the north side, the plateau generates significant thermals, making it a good spot for soaring. The landing area is spacious and easily accessible.
In the evenings, when the wind weakens or shifts to a more northerly direction, Kronplatz provides optimal take-off conditions. The site is also popular for skiing, featuring wide, gentle carving slopes perfect for a smooth ride.
Kronplatz is especially favored during the winter season. The mountain is somewhat isolated, making direct connections for cross-country flights challenging. However, there are multiple take-off directions available, including south, northeast, and northwest, all easily reachable from the mountain station. For more information, visit [Kronplatz](http://www.kronplatz.com).
There are other take-off directions, such as southwest and west, which offer good thermals from the basin but are slightly more challenging for take-off and flight. Be cautious, as landing options to the south are limited.
For flights, Kronplatz is a winter flying site, excellent for soaring in dynamic lift with weak to moderate northerly winds, even in summer. However, opportunities for cross-country flights are limited.
Landing areas include grassy fields at the base of the slope near the valley station of the Kronplatzbahn in Reischach. Note that there is no windsock. Additional emergency landing fields are available at the base of the slope.
Be aware that flying can be dangerous in strong southerly winds.
