Description
Iron Mountain in Princeton, Canada, offers a paragliding site with an elevation of 3340 feet above sea level for the upper launch and 2150 feet above sea level for the landing zone. The site is suitable for both paragliding (PG) and hang gliding (HG), with launch directions to the south, east, and west. The type of flying includes ridge, thermal, and high flights.
The site is known for its excellent grassy slope, making it ideal for repeated launches and landings. It also features an on-top landing zone and training hill slopes at the launch area. The drive to the site is described as easy and exceptionally beautiful, particularly the route from Summerland via the Princeton-Summerland Road, also known as the Osprey/Chain Lakes Road.
The flying season is best in spring and fall, with good conditions in summer and fair conditions in winter. The site is suitable for novice, intermediate, and advanced pilots, although beginners are advised to fly in the mornings and evenings when valley winds are calmer.

Vehicle access to the site requires a 2WD. The launch road is 1 km north of Princeton, turning right immediately after the bridge onto Old Hedley Rd, then left onto Princeton-Summerland Rd. After 3 km, turn right onto Iron Mt. Rd and continue for 5 km to the summit.
