Description
Located in the Valais region of Switzerland, this paragliding site offers a take-off altitude of 2200 meters. The launch area is situated to the left as you exit the gondola lift. During winter, you can take off to the left of the ski lift arrival point. In summer, the take-off is either at the gondola arrival area or on the ski slope below.
The site is regularly used, with glide flights in winter thanks to the gondola lift. In summer, some cross-country (XC) flying is possible, although the exact method to reach the take-off point during this season is unclear and may involve a walk & fly approach.
The take-off window faces North to Northeast and is of medium difficulty. The coordinates for the launch site are 7.28393356, 46.16161858, and there is no walking time required to reach it from the gondola lift.
Be aware of the expanded CTR (Controlled Traffic Region) of Sion since May 1, 2007. The landing area at Les Ecluses is within this CTR.
