Located in Haba, Minakamimachi, Tone-gun, Gunma Prefecture, Japan, the Igano Paraglider Area offers a serene flying experience suitable for both beginners and experienced pilots. The site is managed by the Igano Paraglider Club, established in 1990 with the cooperation of local residents. The flying season extends from spring to autumn, providing ample opportunities to enjoy the skies. The takeoff area is at an altitude of 772 meters above sea level, with a difference of about 320 meters to the landing zone, which is approximately 1 kilometer away. The terrain is gentle, ranging from 5 to 25 degrees, and can accommodate two gliders side by side. The landing zone is wide and flat, ensuring a stress-free experience. Evening thermals are common on flyable days, enhancing the soaring experience. The site is open to guest pilots, and you do not need to be a club member to fly here. However, it is advisable to contact the club for any specific requirements or to arrange your visit. The area is rich in sightseeing spots, including Takumi-no-sato and Sarugakyo, making it a great destination for a day trip or a longer stay. The site is easily accessible by car, just 5 minutes from the Tsukiyono ramp of the Kan'etsu Expressway, or by train, with a 10-minute car ride from either Jyomo Kogen Station of the JR Joetsu Shinkansen or Gokan Station of the JR Joetsu Line. Flight charges are JY2,500 per day, with options for a season pass at JY20,000 or a book of 11 coupons for JY25,000. A shuttle fee of JY500 per day is also required.
