Conditions Optimales
Description
The Gangelsberg near Duchroth, Germany, is an east-facing site occasionally used for soaring and short flights. It offers decent thermals, especially during spring with east wind conditions. Vehicles must be parked at the edge of Duchroth (near the cemetery), and from there, you need to walk along the vineyard path to the launch meadow. The site can accommodate a maximum of 15 pilots. When thermals are weak, pilots should coordinate to clear the lift band for others.
During the bird breeding season from April 1st to July 31st, extra care must be taken to avoid disturbing the birds. Pilots are advised to fly high and avoid flying close to the slope. During this period, an unrestricted pilot's license is also required. Hang gliders can also launch from Gangelsberg, with alternative landing options in Oberhausen an der Nahe.
