Paragliding Flat Top

Flat Top, located in the Nelson region of New Zealand, is a lesser-known paragliding site. The launch area is at an elevation of 1368 meters and offers take-offs in multiple directions with short grass launch zones. The site is rarely used, and the hike to reach it takes approximately 3 hours from the car park. The access track is somewhat overgrown and deviates from the route marked on the M30, 260 Series topo map (1989 edition). Look for a piece of pink tape marking the start of the trail as of March 2012. The site has a recorded flight distance of 27.0 km, making cross-country flights possible.
