Located in the Piemonte region of Italy, specifically in the Province of Torino and the Comune of Chialamberto, this paragliding site offers a beautiful landscape and is suitable for all levels of pilots. The takeoff point is at Ciavanis, situated at an altitude of 1800 meters above sea level. The launch area is a grassy terrain with a 20% slope, allowing multiple wings to open simultaneously. The prevailing winds are from the south and southeast, with valley breezes. Note that flying is not recommended with winds from the north.
To reach the takeoff point, drive from Torino towards Lanzo, then follow directions to Ceres. At the only traffic light, turn right and follow signs for Cantoira and then Chialamberto. Before reaching the town (loc. Valnera), turn right towards Vonzo. Park your car and continue on foot along a dirt road. During the peak season, the local club provides a shuttle service on holidays and pre-holidays. For more information, contact 0123/585897.
The landing area is in Chialamberto at an altitude of 850 meters. It features a mix of agricultural grassland and leveled terrain, partly used as a parking area, adjacent to the Stura stream. The approach circuit is generally straightforward, from the mountain towards the valley. To reach the landing area, continue past Chialamberto and turn left towards the ski facilities. The parking and landing zones are located just after the bridge over the Stura stream.
This site offers excellent thermodynamic conditions, allowing for top landings near the takeoff area and extended soaring along the ridge above Vonzo. Cross-country flights towards Rivotti, Forno A. Graie, Laghi di Monastero, Monte Soglio, and Testa Brusà (Corio) are possible.
