Description
Located in the Allgäu region of Germany, this paragliding site offers a takeoff height of 1126 meters and a height difference of 430 meters, making it suitable for easy to medium-level pilots. The site is frequently used for thermalling and soaring, with occasional opportunities for cross-country flights, although long distances are rare.
Situated at the edge of the Alps, the mountain provides a beautiful view of the Allgäu hills. You can comfortably reach the mountain station via a chairlift, which also features a restaurant and terrace.
The main takeoff area is a well-maintained flat slope, suitable for both paragliders and hang gliders. The abrupt transition to the steep slope can be challenging. The summit hut at 1120 meters above sea level offers an excellent launch site near the mountain station.
The primary landing zone for paragliders is located at 790 meters above sea level, south of the valley station. Depending on wind direction, you may need to approach via a landing pattern. The main landing area for hang gliders is at 800 meters above sea level and requires a left-hand approach.
The site is particularly good for soaring along the ridge, especially with northeast winds. However, the ridge can become crowded quickly due to its limited length. Reliable thermals are expected in spring and summer.
