Paragliding Brná

Brná is a popular paragliding site located near the village of Nová Ves in the Czech Republic. The take-off area is accessible from the Střekov district, heading towards Nová Ves. You will need to park your vehicle just outside the village, as driving on the field path to the take-off is prohibited due to its proximity to a nature reserve. Please be mindful of the environment and avoid any actions that could harm the forested area, as any interference is strictly forbidden. The take-off spot is a gently sloping meadow with a narrow clearing between trees. Be cautious of potential turbulence right at the edge of the hill during take-off. There is also a small, makeshift fire pit at the site, similar to other viewpoints around Ústí. It is crucial to maintain cleanliness at the take-off area and ensure that all waste is carried away. The presence of litter such as paper tissues, PET bottles, and snack wrappers is often mistakenly attributed to paragliders, which we assume is not the case. The take-off direction is south, with a wind azimuth ranging from 180° to 210°. The elevation is 450 meters above sea level, with a height difference of 359 meters. This site is frequently used for thermal soaring, and some cross-country flights are possible. However, be aware of the turbulence near the edge of the hill during take-off.
