Conditions Optimales
Description
Located in the Sillian region of Austria, this paragliding site offers an elevation range of 2130-2250 meters and is considered easy to fly. It is frequently used for good cross-country flights but is less crowded compared to Thurntaler 1, 2, or 3. There are various natural launch options available.
Access to the site can be achieved via cable car or by car. The site is suitable for both paragliders and hang gliders and is an approved training ground. From the top station of the gondola, it takes about 15 minutes on a path to reach the launch site.
The launch area is an alpine meadow interspersed with stones. If the cable car is not operating, private vehicles can only reach Thurntaler Rast. However, a shuttle service provided by the flight school or a taxi can take you up to Gadein.
It's important to note that flights are easier when the wind at higher altitudes is not too strong. During the most thermally active times, there can be strong updrafts at the launch site. For occasional pilots, the Stalpen launch site might be a better option during these conditions.
