This site in Germany is a highly frequented, versatile spot known for its beautiful training slope, excellent soaring conditions, and potential for cross-country flights. The site record is an impressive 138.5 km.
The 'Dune of Sauerland' is one of the most scenic flying areas north of the Alps. The main takeoff is from the top of the 'Dune' and the entire slope area. Soaring is best done to the right of the start, over or in front of the small forest.
Parking is available at the designated area at the foot of the slope. The site is primarily used for training, so independent pilots should prioritize training activities and head right after takeoff for soaring and thermal entry.
Guests can use the site for a fee of 5 EUR per day, payable at the flight school in Willingen. Training and holders of the Sauerland-Fly-Card can use the site for free.

Directions: From Adorf, turn left immediately upon entering Wirmighausen, cross a bridge, and turn left again. Before the sports field, turn right onto a gravel path where parking is available. The flying area is about 150 meters further.
