Beach type & size: Sand - Small Infos: The beach launch is at Haven Beach Yacht Club. Launch and head out directly West into the bay. There are two islands situated directly out, these are The Danks. Identified hazards: Concrete Weather specificities: Winter: air 20-40F, water28-40F. Spring: air 40-70F, water 40-60F. Summer: air 60-85F, water 70-80F. Fall: air 40-70F, water 45-65F. So basically you need a fullsuit in spring and fall. Board shorts in summer. Thick wetsuit, booties, gloves, and hood needed in winter (dangerous). Wind type: Thermal, Frontal Wind specificities: Tons of wind here. Winter: NE and W. Spring: NE, W, S, SE. Summer: S, SW. Fall: NE, W, SW. Bring a 9, 13, and 17 (or around these sizes) and you will be riding 5 days/week. Access description: by Car - Get to Long Beach Island. Drive South until you see Haven Beach Yacht Club on the right (West) side. Pull into the parking lot. Set up your gear on the small beach. Specific rules: Other Extra: This is a private yacht club, so you must be a member of the HCYC Yacht Club to ride here. Nightlife: Tons of stuff to do on the island at night.
