Level: Beginner, Intermediate, Expert Type: Ocean Water type: Shallow, Flat, Chop Water hazards: Bridge Water quality: Cloudy Infos: Flat to choppy water. On low tide you can have a big shallow area. Water clarity is poor. Also seaweed tends to clog up the lines. Beach type & size: Sand - Small Infos: Long, but narrow sandy beach. I was also not pleased with how much broken glass was on the beach. Horseshoe cove at Sandy Hook bay is much nicer (they also have showers). Identified hazards: Other Beachgoer: June, July, August Weather specificities: Nice and warm during summer. Fall and spring needs a long wetsuit, during winter a thick wetsuit. Wind type: Thermal, Frontal Wind specificities: Best winds in spring and fall. Best months: March, April, May, September, October, November, December Access description: by Car - From Garden State Pkwy get onto 36 east and in Port Monmouth get onto Main St and drive northeast. Turn left onto Wilson Ave and at its end turn left onto Port Monmouth Rd and then immediately turn right into the parking lot. Specific rules: None Accommodations: Toilet, Parking
